iiaIndian Industries Association (IIA) has set up an IIA MSME Development Center (IMDC) at its head-office in Vibhuti Kand, Gomtinagar in Lucknow. Vikram Singh (Ex DGP UP) and a Pro- Chancellor, Noida International University who is a renowned speaker and trainer on man management team building, crisis management, values & ethics inaugurated this center as the chief guest for the event.

The objective of setting up of IMDC is to enhance the knowledge and skills of MSME owners as well as employees of MSMEs through structured need analysis and training, develop new entrepreneurs and provide them handholding services for setting up their enterprises successfully. It would also aim at conducting research, studies & surveys for the development of MSMEs.

Manish Goel, President-IIA said that Indian Industries Association (IIA), a QCI Gold rated body has been working exclusively for the promotion and development of MSMEs for 31 years now since 1985. It is observed that the knowledge and skills training programme organized by various professional / vocational / MSME Development Institutions do not meet the exact need / requirements of MSME’s.

“Even the programme organized by the apex institutions are either suited to the big enterprises or are not affordable by the MSME’s. The programmes are designed without the need analysis of the target MSME’s. As such there is a wide gap between the developmental needs of MSME’s and the programme / manpower available in the market for them”, he emphasized.

He added that Indian Industries Association (IIA) by virtue of its structure and functioning is connected with the MSME entrepreneurs at the grass root level through its chapters. “As such, IIA is in a better position to understand the developmental needs of MSME’s without much of efforts compared to anybody else. Hence the need for setting up of this unique “IIA MSME Development Center” (IMDC) was felt“, he said.

This aspires to be a center of excellence for fulfilling all developmental needs of Micro Small & medium Enterprises in India to make them Globally competitive which in turn will promote MSME’s to be a major players in Industrial and Economic Development of India.

IIA MSME Development Center will have experts in the area of HR, Marketing, Labour Laws / Industrial Relation, Finance, Taxation, Industrial Safety, Environment, Power, Quality & Productivity, Branding & Promotions, Import AND Exports, Entrepreneurs Development, Technologies and innovations suiting to MSME’s.

The motive of IIA is not to earn the profit from IMDC but to ensure the organizing of Quality programmes and to develop ethical leadership and moral functioning of enterprises. The Impetus of IMDC programmes will be on adherence of legal provisions respecting the statute and guidelines of regulatory authorities, said Manmohan Agarwal, Secretary IIA.

A two days programme on ‘Capacity Building for Higher performance and Growth’ was also flagged off on this inaugural day of the center which is being attended by about 50 delegates from different parts of the state including 3 delegates form Bhopal Madhya Pradesh.
