The MSME Ministry has emphasized on the need for using information technology for good governance and employment generation in the sector.
Addressing a meeting of senior officers of The Ministry, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Kalraj Mishra expressed satisfaction that Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) is getting momentum among entrepreneurs and over 4,000 UAMs are being filed every day, an official statement said.
The Ministry in September 2015, has notified that every MSME unit shall file UAM. This is a step to promote ease-of-doing-business for MSMEs in India as the UAM replaces the filing of Entrepreneurs’ Memorandum with the respective states and UTs.
It also said that keeping in view the importance of an action plan for high-speed broadband connectivity on optical cable to all Gram Panchayats, proposed to be implemented by December, 2018, the minister expressed desire to understand all the steps required for the implementation at ground level.
Mishra further said that information, education and communication plan of the ministry should be finalised quickly so that entrepreneurs are aware of various norms and procedures of the Ministry.
