The registrations of new MSMEs have been made online and linked to Aadhaar numbers with effect from October 6. The state government has made it mandatory following the central government’s decision. Through this process called Udyog Aadhaar, an entrepreneur starting a new MSME unit will have to submit his Aadhaar card number to get the company registered online.

Moreover, the office of the District Industries Centre (DIC) in Nashik has also started a camp to facilitate new and existing MSMEs to make online registrations for Udyog Aadhaar. The camp will continue till December 31.

Speaking to TOI, a DIC official said, “With the registrations going online, the entrepreneurs need not go to the DIC office. They can do it online by just submitting their Aadhaar numbers. Since October 6, around 666 MSMEs in Nashik district have registered online.”

“Besides the new industries, we have also asked the existing ones to submit their Aadhaar numbers online and take acknowledgement. We are planning to cover all the existing MSMEs in Nashik district under Udyog Aadhaar. We have just commenced a camp to facilitate new as well as existing MSMEs for making online registrations,” he added.

Earlier, the MSMEs had to submit part one certificate from the office of the DIC of the state government while opening a new unit. Moreover, they had to submit part two certificate after their units commence operations. Now, with the introduction of the online registration system, these part one and two procedures have been cancelled. The central government has introduced the portal http://udyogaadhaar.gov.in for online registrations.

There are two industrial estates of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) – Satpur and Ambad – in Nashik. Of the total 3,500 micro, small, medium and large units operational in both the MIDC areas, around 90% are from MSME categories.

With the registrations going online, the entrepreneurs need not go to the DIC office. They can do it online by just submitting their Aadhaar numbers. Since October 6, around 666 MSMEs in Nashik district have registered online. We have also asked the existing ones to submit their Aadhaar numbers online and take acknowledgement.
