nasscom_leadership_shotA Mobile-based GPS Attendance for SME’s in the Unorganised Sector by a NASSCOM 10,000 Start-up Company A huge pain point for SME’s, particularly the small ones is how to track staff on the move as well as in the office. It is a major problem across the board for the estimated 51 million SME’s in India. The Solution? A product called OYE10 which is a simple mobile-based GPS Attendance for a small 10-15 people company that can help track staff, both in the office and on the move.

A setup that takes just 5 minutes on the mobile. To get this GPS Attendance, an SME would spend as little as a single cup of tea a day for their entire company. Or to put it differently, a monthly spend of just 30 cups of tea for the entire company. There is an initial limit of 25 people, but even beyond that, the cost is well within the budgets of all SME’s. OYE10 is connecting with all types of SME’s in India, particularly the micro SME’s.

With no training required and a simple self-registration on the mobile, OYE10, is catching the imagination of many small SME’s. It is sold through partners, who are also its clients. According to Sanjay Surana, a OYE10 partner who has a steel dealership, “I use the product for my own staff of 10 people in the office. However, its potential is so great, that I became a partner, and expect to bring in over 300 clients a year. As it is a subscription business, if I bring in the same number of clients every year, my revenue doubles with half the effort.” Like Surana, over 20 Partners register to sell it every week, and this number is growing. Many of them, like Surana start off as clients, but once they start using the product and see its potential, they become partners.

There are no restrictions on partnerships. One partner could bring in 10 clients, while another Partner could bring in 1,000 clients. All are welcome and supported. According to Dr. Joseph Rasquinha, Co-Founder and CEO, this is happening because, “OYE10 is probably one of the very few products in the world that can connect with an SME. Its GPS Attendance is desperately needed in this sector, which is highly unorganised.” Raju Monga, Co-Founder, says OYE10 has actual experience of dealing with SME’s because it has done trials with over 4,000 companies across sectors in 120 locations in India and 20 international locations.

This gives it a deep understanding of an SME’s pain points.” The mobile-based GPS Attendance allows an SME to bypass book registers, card systems, and bio-metric systems by making the simple mobile the new boss. The GPS Attendance registers staff location using mobile towers not satellites so the mobile phone charge remains. This is critical in the unorganised sector where staff have low cost smart phones. OYE10 is used from two people SME’s to 1,000 people companies.

According to Google, in India’s SME market of 5.1 crore (51 million), over 4 crores (40 million) don’t have computers. But, over 1 billion (100 crore) Indians have mobile phones. And over 500 million (50 crore) are on the Internet. An affordable mobile-based GPS application for attendance is a game changer.
