Business-IdeaCoimbatore: Urging youngsters to bring back the city’s glory in entrepreneurship, the Co-Founder and CEO of Naturals Salon, C K Kumaravel, on February 13 spoke about the need for executing an idea into a venture. He inaugurated a business accelerator- Innovspace in the city.

Innovspace, conceived by its Director Vimal Veereshwaraya, is a business accelerator that will provide startups an ecosystem to scale up their ventures. A 6,500 sqft space on Kalapatti Road, Innovaspace will aim at encouraging more startup ventures to implement their ideas.

Kumaravel, who started out his venture with his wife in 2000, spoke about the importance to convert ideas into an enterprise. In his inaugural address, he said, “The 21stcentury is a century of ideas. When you start to set up a venture, money or manpower does not matter today. It’s all about ideas.”

“If you can convert your idea into a venture, then you are a good entrepreneur,” he added.

An alumni from PSG College of Arts and Science, Kumaravel cited Facebook as an example. “Innovspace is a good opportunity for entrepreneurs, who have a good idea but require a platform to scale up their ventures. Fifteen days ago, I meet Gururaj Deshpandey of the Deshpandey Foundation, the largest incubator in the country in Hubli. It’s an example for the right infrastructure that startups require,” he said.

“I wish Innovspace develops into one such facility. Journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step,” Kumaravel said.

He further said that through setups like Innovspace, budding entrepreneurs in Coimbatore should revive the glory of Coimbatore in terms of entrepreneurship. “A few years ago, Coimbatore was buzzing with new ventures, however the situation has become cold in the past few years. There is nothing to blame. But, I feel that this soil has the potential to revive that glory,” he said.
