TargetTarget India had announced the fifth batch of its Target Accelelator Programme on July 19. Eight start-ups were selected by this retail service provider to develop innovative technology solution.

These startups are given the opportunity to work in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, analytics and digital experiences.

“The Target accelerator’s largest batch yet holds diverse capabilities that can add value to our business and the entire retail sector through cutting-edge technologies such as AI and machine learning,” said Rakesh Mishra, Target India Vice-President of Marketing, in a statement.

“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to tap into the immense innovation potential that exists in India through the programme,” Mishra added.

The eight start-ups that have been selected include Hyperworks, Light Information system, Streamoid, Cognitifai, Moonraft, Cogknit, vPhrase and Jumper.ai.

  1. Hyperworks Imaging is a cutting edge technology company based out of Bengaluru. They solve green field problems in perishable food ecosystem using the latest advances in AI, imaging and innovative product design. Hyperworks deploys their big data enabled analytic platforms to solve critical business pain points for our customers.
  2. Light Information Systems is into R&D in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning. They have been on this journey for the past 4 years, during which they have made many breakthoughs in HCI focused algorithms. Their technology helps understand meaning of text and images. Light NLP AI has applications in consumer products as well as enterprise applications and ecosytems, primarily in automating user engagement.
  3. Streamoid’s technology is built on the excellence of its image recognition software that extracts granular features and maps it to a proprietary fashion lexicon, giving a depth of product understanding that does not exist anywhere today.
  4. Cognitifai use surveillance cameras and video intelligence engine to index and reason physical world phenomena such as 9000+ objects (Humans, vechicles …), their interactions, behaviors, movements and relationships. So people can monitor, analyze and query spaces in real time for relevant and specific information that can improve their business – Hyperlocal intelligence.
  5. Jumper.ai makes buying and selling on social media smooth, simple, fast and fun.
  6. Cogknit’s aims and purpose is to built products and provide game changing value to their customers.
  7. Moonraft is an innovation and design firm. Moonraft is an innovation and design firm. they focus on advancing human experience through design-driven innovation.
  8. vPhrase’s platform PHRAZOR converts complex numbers into simple words to communicate insights. It analyses, reasons and writes like a human being, in multiple languages.
