Portea-Healthcare-startupHome healthcare startup Portea Medical has expanded into the wellness segment with its new offering Portea Activ, an end-to-end health and fitness program, which is expected to become a major business segment for the company. The program was launched 15 days ago and is currently being offered through Portea’s corporate tie-ups with about 30 companies across three cities, CEO Meena Ganesh said.

“We are working with corporates to pilot this program to see what people are asking for. We are seeing a good uptick. Conversions are high since it’s a comprehensive solution,” Ganesh said. “We will launch it to the general public very shortly. We see it becoming a big part of Portea’s business,” she added.

Ganesh said Portea is using technology to create customised wellness solutions. “Using an AI bot we are able to create a database and a profile of the individual to recommend the right solutions and share a customised diet and fitness plan, which will be supplemented by interactions with experts”, Ganesh said. Apart from the health-coaching program, Portea will also source food items for users and deliver it in packages with the calorie count.

“The program goes beyond wellness. The same solution is also applicable to disease such as diabetes where lifestyle intervention is also required”, Ganesh said.
