Members deliberated on paving the way forward for start-ups to build innovative global companies in med-tech.

The event was organised in association with GrowthEnabler, which mentors and advices entrepreneurs, and Metayage, which focuses on Intellectual Property services.

“The aim was to showcase all the new innovations in healthcare. There is a lot of medical technology innovation happening right now in India. We wanted to get people up to speed,” said Rajeev Banduni, CEO, GrowthEnabler, who teamed with TLA and GrowthEnabler Co-Founder Aftab Malhotra for the TLA India chapter. TLA is a private-sector-led coalition of over 3,000 experts from the tech sector, who have committed to championing London’s potential as a world-class hub for tech and digital businesses.

Banduni said it was high time “to start focussing on funding for early-stage med-tech companies here, since India will be the second largest med-tech market in the world by 2020.”

At the event, speakers shared insights on issues and opportunities impacting med-tech and the transformation anticipated over the next 10 years.

Commenting on the TLA India chapter, Banduni said TLA, a non-for-profit organisation, was keen to collaborate with technology experts and start-ups in India.

“If start-ups want to get exposed to an ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship, they need to use this platform, since it will allow for collaboration between Indian cities and London,” he added.

The med-tech workshop MedTech event showcased different areas of innovation, and the latest news in the field og health technology.
