AbhishekMinds bright and curious are beautiful minds. The world is full of magic and our very own country has its fare share of enchantment within it. There is magic in the mountains, desserts, in the rivers and the forests; in the cities and the countryside;in the everyday; in the brilliant, wonderful minds.

In 1997, one of these many brilliant minds was in search of his particular kind of wonder around him. Abhishek Rungta knew he could handle computers. Self revelations are found to be common phenomena when one is stranded in crises. An accident rendered him bed ridden for several weeks; it gave him opportunity to invest time on his computer. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh was meant to arrive at Kolkata for the commemoration of golden jubilee celebrations of the Indian independence and Abhishek found himself as one of the winners put with a team of fellow winners to make an animated movie enumerating the activities of DofE in Kolkata. He realized soon enough in the process of the making and the post screening encouraging reviews of his video that, happiness was him exploring the magic his machine was capable of. He was discovering the computer and finding new avenues that were letting him fall deeper in love with what it could do.

It is only the minds that are determined and a little gallant along with being curious that manage to take risks. A strong belief in one’s dream determines the lengths one is willing to go to achieve them. Abhishek made a daring move and quit his job at Citibank to initiate a business around that which he loved.

They say choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. But you surely have to be patient to reap in the benefits of success you envision yourself dwelling in once you’re on the brink of making your dreams come true. He and his friends decided to start an “email shop”. In a time when cyber cafes were unheard of, this idea was fresh. But fate did not work in their favoras the company that was to provide them with an email service went bankrupt consequently putting an end to the “email shop”.

However as a residue, the scheme left two modems at Abhishek’s house. Determined he was, so he delved further to connect the modems to a service called BBS (Bulletin Board Service). This opened up immense possibilities. He tried to seek a job citing his animation skills but didn’t get through because he did not know HTML. This rejection lead him to enquire into HTML. On his mother’s advise, Abhishek went to a commercial exhibition next, with 50 photocopies of a handwritten advertisement offering his services. He was inexperienced and hadn’t booked a stall to exhibit but fate clicked and he negotiated some space with a modem stall that was doing good business. He got himself a slight corner and did his best to make the most of that day. Soon enough people were milling around him to enquie about his new found technology. And on that fated day, he finally did his first trade.

This was in 1997, and I like to call the founding of Indus Net Technologies. My first customer was kind enough to give him a cheque the very next day. The first deal ultimately ended up generating Rs 13000. This was the money I started my Company with and since then there has been no looking back.” says Abhishek.

Dreams are a part of being human. But there is always a cost to pay for them to come true.

Do not hesitate to start small.” He says.

There is a fantastic concept called – ‘compounding’. If a number keep doubling itself for 25 times, you will have a big scale. Therefore keep a goal to keep multiplying in a sustainable way. Remember the chessboard problem!”

Abhishek Rungta’s genius shows in his ability to not aver get let down by failures. On every step, he has taken something from each experience that he did not succeed in. he picked up two modems when his email shop did not work; he learnt HTML when he got rejected because of his ignorance of it and he paved his way, firm an strong into a business that holds a heavy command over the world.
