Kolkata-based NVR group with diverse interest in steel, infrastructure, IT and food, is betting big on the health food segment to taste success. The company is gearing up to roll out its health drink brand Nutriway pan India aggressively and has already lined up plans to even tap some of the overseas markets like the US, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius. The health food segment is expected to reach Rs 22,500 crore by the end of the current fiscal and is growing at a CAGR of 20 per cent.
Today’s life is hectic and stressful which leaves us with hardly any time for looking after our health and nutrition and therefore, health food category is what we have started with, we will widen our horizon according to the opportunities as and when we get, in due course. Our objective is what our tagline says: ‘Making Planet Healthy’, said Sanjay Singh Rathor, chairman and Managing Director, NVR Group.
Rathor is aware that food business always runs the risk of getting entangled into controversies over food safety standards/hazards etc and therefore safety standard is top priority for the company. “All our products are 100 per cent natural with no preservatives, added colour and or flavours, keeping in check of quality, and all the safety standards and hazards in mind. R&D is an inevitable process for any product, hence we are also looking into it, but currently we are getting it done by outsourcing by the pioneers in the market,” said Rathor.
All its products along with the health drink, now branded as NUTRIWAY is a innovative product, recognised by INDIA INNOVATION INITIATIVE- i3, organised by department of science and technology, Agilent Technologies and Confederation Of Indian Industries. NVR has successfully reinvented the legume through a new formulation, which is not only unique but unmatched for maintaining good health, claimed Rathor.
The company is working on a plan to add gym, health centres, wellness & fitness centres, Spa & massage centres, hospitals, hotels, modern retail in our customer list, online and through personal contacts.
Export plans are also in place. Rathor said, “Our products have already been tested, tasted and trusted in countries like the US, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius and very recently Maldives. We have been receiving regular mailed enquiries and orders from the US and other countries. We will now start exports in a more structured and more aggressive manner.”
