Odisha Chief Minister Naveen PatnaikBhubaneswar: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the focus areas of the State Government as the sector will play a key role in employment generation over the next decade. Young entrepreneurs should take ample advantage from the policies charted in the ‘ease of doing business’ agenda of the government and venture for start-ups, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on April 1.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a manufacturing facility of Anmol Industries at Chandaka Industrial Estate, Patnaik said Odisha being an agro-based economy, the State Government lays maximum emphasis on the food processing sector.

“This sector has an immense potential to generate employment and prove decisive in fructifying the target of three lakh jobs by 2025,” added Patnaik.

Speaking on the occasion, Industries and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said industrialisation and financial independence of the region, where manufacturing units are being set up, should go hand in hand. Anmol Industries got the land for ` five crore and set up the facility with an investment of Rs 140 crore. The factory would generate 1100 direct and indirect employment, he added.

Industry Secretary Sanjeev Chopra said the proposal of Anmol for the facility at Anlapatna in Chandaka was approved in 2015 and within two years, the unit is ready for production. “The progress and materialisation of the project in such a short span is a fitting example of the ease of doing policy of the Government,” he added.

Addressing mediapersons on the occasion, Managing Director of Anmol Industries Bimal Choudhary said this is their seventh manufacturing facility of the country and second in Odisha. Anmol is the second largest biscuit brand in the State and the facility has a manufacturing capacity of 56,000 tonne per annum, he informed.

The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with modern tools and certifications like GHP, GMP and HACCP. It is a green plant equipped with 400 KV solar plant and shall use clean fuel like LPG only, Choudhary added.
