With an aim to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among women and to provide a platform for networking and mentorship, the ‘Shakti Women Entrepreneurs Meet’ is being organised by the India SME Forum in association with SBI and AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation on January 20 at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton in Visakhapatnam.
Union Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra will be the chief guest for the meet. More than 150 women entrepreneurs from various parts of Andhra Pradesh are expected to participate in the programme. The Women Entrepreneurship segment of India SME Forum has 7,068 women entrepreneurs from across the country under its wings.
Speaking at a press conference here on January 18, Sushma Morthania, Director General, India SME Forum, said the programme will a session on enabling women in business for growth and success and Stand-up India Scheme for Women and two sessions presenting success stories of four women entrepreneurs.
“We have also proposed to set up an incubation centre for women entrepreneurs to the State government,” said Morthania.
Sailaja Kiron, MD, Margadarsi Chit Funds, Smita Naram, MD, Ayushakti Healthcare, Hema Jain, MD of Crux Management Services and Yallapragada Rajeshwari, proprietor, Siddhi Creations Garment Manufacturing Unit, will share their journey into entrepreneurship during the sessions.
Advertising and branding guru Prahlad Kakkar and Uma Shanmukhi Sistla, GM – SME, SBI, will also be taking sessions at the meet.
The entrepreneurship meet will begin at 10 a.m. and entry is by invitation. Those interested can register by logging into the website www.indiasmeforum.org.
