Small and Medium Industries (SMEs) are the backbone of the country’s manufacturing besides helping in generating employment to millions, Labour & Employment Minister Bandaru Dattareya said.
Dattareya was speaking at the two-day National SME Conference GoNat where he lauded the efforts of SMEs in the economic development of the country.
Over 800 entrepreneurs drawn across diverse SME verticals like e-commerce, F&B, Textile & Garments, Retail, IT, ITES and Organic Farming based all over the country participated in the event aimed at promoting mutual cooperation.
Executive Directors (BNI heads) of Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Cochin, Goa, Pune and Visakhapatnam also attended.
BNI is a 30 year old business and professional organisation that allows only one person from each trade or profession to join a chapter. BNI has over 170,000 members worldwide, in 58 different countries, from over 300 different types of profession who have benefited from increased referral business as a result of BNI.
Bharat Shah, Executive Director, BNI Hyderabad, said, “India is going through a great time and especially SMEs are helping to accelerate India’s economic growth and ushering in of the biggest entrepreneurial revolution.”
BNI has facilitated many SMEs establish right contacts, including 1500 women entrepreneurs.
