The government will provide Market Development Assistance to Khadi and Village Industries.
Aimed at boosting Khadi, the government will provide rebate at the rate of 20% of their actual production against sanctioned target.
of this, 25% will be earmarked for the payment to spinners and weavers as additional incentive or bonus through their Bank or Post Office accounts. The Minister of State for MSME Giriraj Singh said.
The government has also assisted Khadi and polyvastra institutions by helping them to avail finance from banks at subsidized 4 per cent interest.
The government has launched Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries to promote traditional industries clusters and make them more productive and competitive in the open market for sustainable development.
To revive the weak Khadi Institutions, the government has extended support by Strengthening Infrastructure through renovation and modernization of their outlets under Assistance for Marketing Infrastructure
Singh said, KVIC has set up interfaces with leading technological institutes to conduct research work under S&T programme of KVIC for development of tools, implements and processes involved in production.
KVIC is undertaking Entrepreneurship cum Skill Development Programme throughout the country and is preparing them to set up enterprises under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme.
